on Spider
My lunch appetite was completely destroyed when I noticed the following fact on a Snapple bottle cap:
The average human will eat an average of 8 spiders while sleeping.
Although I enjoyed the trick-or-treat fun and heartily embrace the idea of dressing up in ghost costumes and walking around with big jack-o’-lanterns, the Halloween obsession with spiders is sill beyond my ken. It is everywhere: stuffed eight-legged poupées hanging from ceilings, glued to walls, embroidered on shirts. While kids running around through these awful decorations with sheer holiday excitement, they sure will scream for life the instant they see a real one. Continue Reading »

Milk
年初的时候，Gus van Sant来三藩拍传记片Milk，需要Castro街作实景，于是半条街时光倒流了三十年。街口的Diesel挂上了BoA的牌子，Milk工作过的相机店也整个腾了出来。有一场游行的戏说是要群众演员，哗啦就报满了，剧组措手不及，只好向没报上名的连声道歉。
实拍的那天和几个朋友去了现场。气氛很热烈，好多行人也一并加入队伍中去。其实游行队伍的大部分都不会出现在影片里：真正需要的镜头，剧组一早雇了专业龙套走在前头。灯光很亮，天气很冷，Castro街边特意停了一溜老爷车，加油站的油价是6毛3。
Milk本来定在明年上映，不知何故突然改到年底。要改，其实应改到11月4号普选前，对Prop 8之战也有帮助。10月28号Castro Theatre有一场首映，我一看到片花，突然想起此事。待电话过去时，waiting list早已排到月球上，又兼要价250刀，只好悻悻然作罢。[Who Killed Harvey Milk?]
